Case Study: Addleshaw Goddard - Client Transaction Data Management


Addleshaw Goddard are a leading international law firm - ranked 7th in the UK according to the number of FTSE 100 Clients (Chambers Client Report UK 2010), employing more than 1,000 staff with offices in UK, Singapore and Dubai.


Addleshaw Goddard offer a diverse range of client services and the global economic challenges of recent years has increased the pace of change in an already fragmenting business landscape. Addleshaw Goddard's clients demand more and better value so they have responded by accelerating the delivery of value by constantly innovating with new ways of working, smarter tools and better development and deployment of individual skills and services. Addleshaw Goddard approached DataTherapy to assist with new technology to explore how to prototype new workflow and data management tools to improve the efficiency of handling client transactions. 


DataTherapy collaborated with Addleshaw Goddard to build a FileMaker based solution to trial new client transaction workflows and reporting approaches. Given FileMaker’s flexibility and agility to prototype simple and intuitive interfaces, new ideas could be explored and tested, and feedback related amendments implemented much more quickly than traditionally possible with software development tools.

  • Within a two month period, a completely new workflow had been devised, tested and optimised in time and readiness for trial with real-world data and live client projects.
